Airvana Ltd
Formed in 2000, Airvana provides network infrastructure products used by wireless operators to deliver mobile broadband services. These products, which are based on Internet Protocol technology, enable wireless networks to deliver revenue-generating, broadband-quality multimedia services to mobile phones, laptops, and other mobile devices. Airvana’s products are used by over 30 operators worldwide, including Alltel, Bell Mobility, Sprint, Telefonica, Telus, and Verizon Wireless. Airvana has OEM agreements with Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel, and QUALCOMM.
In May 2007, Airvana acquired 3Way Networks of Cambridge, a provider of home base stations and industry-tailored solutions for UMTS markets. This has resulted in the Cambridge Design Centre retaining the vibrancy of a start-up environment whilst enjoying the stability offered by the Airvana acquisition.
